Dear Ms. Franz:

Thank you for the opportunity to express these words of congratulations to Bishop Matthew Clark as he celebrates the Jubilee of his ordination to the Priesthood and thirty-three years as Bishop of the Diocese of Rochester.

The faithful of Rochester have been blessed with a remarkable shepherd whose deep faith is reflected in his tender care for all God’s people, particularly the marginalized and those suffering from injustices of all sorts. Bishop Clark is a very gifted man who has empowered many through his collaborative ministry, building up the local Church to the greater glory of God. His servant leadership inspires us all.

I join the faithful of the Diocese of Ogdensburg in asking God’s continued blessings upon Bishop Clark as he celebrates these milestones of his faith journey.

Faithfully in Christ,

Most Reverend Terry R. LaValley

Bishop of Ogdensburg
