It is no coincidence that the Catholic Church in the United States and in New York state has failed in its efforts to reduce the number of abortions, the increase in physician suicides, violent abuse within families, racism, the opioid epidemic, and continued decline in ecological systems.

Lauds the late Fr. Philipps

After waiting 14 years, I had been received into the Church just before coming to Rochester in 1960 to Blessed Sacrament parish. Within two years, I had met and married another parishioner, and the Vatican Council was in full swing. Father (John) Philipps served that parish at least some of that time and was my confessor for over a decade, all told.

Seek aid of new martyr

The slain priest Jacques Hamel as he prepared the Mass of Jesus’ last supper (on July 26 was) martyred for his belief of Jesus. Just as St. Thomas Becket was murdered in his church at the foot of the altar so was Father Jacques Hamel. The priest was slain in the house of the Lord.
