More priestly milestones noted

EDITOR'S NOTE: Space limitations only allow us to highlight anniversaries of 25, 50 and 50-plus years, but the following priests also are marking ordination jubilees this year:

Forty-five years: Father Peter Bayer, chaplain at St. Ann's Home; Father Donald Curtiss, who reached senior-priest status in 2014; and Father Frederick Helfrich, who reached senior-priest status in 2014.

Forty years: Father Peter Clifford, pastor, St. John of Rochester, Fairport; Father Peter Helfrich, a Rochester native who is a priest of the Diocese of Ogdensburg; Father Thomas Mull, pastor, Our Lady of Peace, Geneva; Father Michael Upson, pastor, Blessed Trinity, Wolcott/Red Creek/Fair Haven; and Father Thomas Valenti, parochial administrator, Blessed Trinity/St. Patrick, Owego.

Thirty-five years: Father Dennis Bonsignore, chaplain, Monroe Community Hospital; Father Daniel Condon, diocesan chancellor; Father George Heyman, president, St. Bernard's School of Theology and Ministry; Father Daniel McMullin, sacramental minister, Cornell Catholic Community and Ithaca College Catholic Community; Father Anthony Mugavero, pastor, Holy Apostles, Rochester; and Father Paul Tomasso, diocesan vicar general and moderator of the curia.

Thirty years: Father Peter Anglaaere, pastor, Our Lady of the Valley, Hornell/Rexville; Father John Gathenya, pastor, Holy Family, Auburn; Father James Jaeger, assisting priest, St. John Vianney, Bath/Hammondsport; and Father Gary Tyman, pastor, Our Lady of Lourdes, Brighton, and St. Anne, Rochester, and pastoral administrator, St. George, Brighton.

Fifteen years: Father Joseph Marcoux, pastor, St. Catherine of Siena, Ithaca.

Five years: Father Scott Caton, assisting priest, St. Lawrence, Greece.
