Schools seeks volunteers for Field of Honor

St. Mary School is seeking volunteers to help with its upcoming Field of Honor event, which will take place Sept. 11-15 at the school, 16 E. Gibson St. in Canandaigua.

The event, which will feature hundreds of American flags in precise formation, will pay tribute to servicemen and servicewomen, veterans, local first responders and victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Funds raised through the event will benefit St. Mary School and the JACK Foundation, which builds playgrounds in memory of Jack Heiligman, a Webster 3-year-old who passed away in October 2016. More information about the JACK Foundation may be found at http://jack-foundation.org.

Volunteers are needed to help with such tasks as programming, publicity and fundraising for the event.
