To the editor:
I read Father John Catoir’s February column "Facts show nation is going the wrong way" three times and aside from "pray for the United States" couldn’t find a reference to our faith. Instead I found a political opinion piece I’d expect to find in a secular newspaper.
Father Catoir has the same right of free speech as all Americans but if Catholic publications are going to print purely political opinions perhaps they should pay taxes like secular ones.
