I had to say goodbye to a place that I have called “home” for more than 30 years, the former St. Helen Church in Gates, which closed at the end of June, along with Holy Ghost Church. I had planned to write about my memories of my old school and church for an “Our Two Cents” blog post, but our chief photographer, Jeff Witherow, suggested that I share them on camera. So here’s my trip down memory lane as I say goodbye to St. Helen.
