To the editor:
There have been as many as 259,366 African-American pre-born lives destroyed EACH YEAR through abortions. It has been estimated that since 1990 the African American community has lost more than 10 million children to abortion. About 13 percent of American women are African-American, but they submit to over 28 percent of the abortions.
We have over 2,500 pre-born lives taken every day in the United States and over 125,000 pre-born lives destroyed EACH DAY in our world. This does not include all the women whose lives have been wounded and devastated by their abortion.
There is a lack of importance around this immense, unjust loss of developing human life, whether black, brown or white. I believe this horrendous situation goes almost unnoticed daily in our country because for too many people abortion is out of sight and is merely a concept. Many helpless, vulnerable George Floyds, who were years younger, as pre-born children, have experienced a deafening silence of concern for them.
Black lives matter, except if they are of a certain diminutive stature, and located at a particular location — within their mothers’ womb. Our hope is one day all black lives will matter — born or pre-born.
