Adoration opportunities offered in Corning

All are welcome to take part in weekly eucharistic adoration at St. Mary Church and the Anawim Community Prayer Center in Corning.

Adoration is offered from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sundays in the chapel of St. Mary Church, 155 State St. It also takes place at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays for senior citizens at the Anawim Center, 122 E. First St. In addition, nocturnal adoration is available from 9 p.m. Fridays to 7 a.m. Saturdays at the prayer center.

The Anawim Community is dedicated to a number of spiritual and missionary endeavors, with eucharistic and Marian devotion serving as a basis. Though not a diocesan entity, Anawim operates with the blessings of Rochester diocesan leaders. Members engage in such activities as monthly liturgies for special causes, particularly healing Masses; weekday reflection gatherings beginning at 5:30 a.m.; daily prayer based on a book of meditations, the rosary and Liturgy of the Hours; weekly Holy Hour to pray for religious vocations; programs on various spiritual topics; pilgrimages to the Philippines, Fatima and various shrines; and special intentions offered at community prayers and Masses.
