All are welcome to take part in weekly eucharistic adoration at St. Mary Church and the Anawim Community Prayer Center in Corning.
Adoration is offered from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sundays in the chapel of St. Mary Church, 155 State St. It also takes place at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays for senior citizens at the Anawim Center, 122 E. First St. In addition, nocturnal adoration is available from 9 p.m. Fridays to 7 a.m. Saturdays at the prayer center.
The Anawim Community is dedicated to a number of spiritual and missionary endeavors, with eucharistic and Marian devotion serving as a basis. Though not a diocesan entity, Anawim operates with the blessings of Rochester diocesan leaders. Members engage in such activities as monthly liturgies for special causes, particularly healing Masses; weekday reflection gatherings beginning at 5:30 a.m.; daily prayer based on a book of meditations, the rosary and Liturgy of the Hours; weekly Holy Hour to pray for religious vocations; programs on various spiritual topics; pilgrimages to the Philippines, Fatima and various shrines; and special intentions offered at community prayers and Masses.
