Agency in need of gifts, volunteers

Catholic Charities of Chemung/Schuyler is seeking donations for its “Gifts of Hope” program this Christmas season.

The gifts would support community members in need in Chemung and Schuyler counties. For a list of donation ideas, as well as information on dropping off gifts, visit, then click on “Upcoming Events,” then “Christmas Giving Ideas,” then “Gifts of Hope.”

In addition, Catholic Charities is seeking volunteer host homes in the Schuyler County area to take in runaway youths and young adults, ages 10-24, for 30 days or less. Training would be provided. Those interested should call 607-535-2050, ext. 206. This initiative is part of the Runaway and Homeless Youth Program operated by Catholic Charities in partnership with the Schuyler County Youth Bureau.
