Two upcoming initiatives will help raise funds for the Catholic Courier/Catholic Charities Christmas Appeal.
On Dec. 11, the Christmas Appeal will participate in the third-annual ROC the Day, an online fundraising event to benefit Rochester-area nonprofit organizations. That day the appeal will welcome online donations in any amount at www.roctheday.org/CatholicCourierCatholicCharitiesChristmasAppeal.
On Feb, 22, 2014, the Christmas Appeal’s third-annual Bowl-A-Thon will take place at L&M Lanes, 873 Merchants Road, Rochester. Three games of bowling and shoe rental are included in the $20 entry fee. To register as a team or individual, and for other details, call 585-529-9530.
Additionally, donations can be mailed to the Catholic Courier along with the printable donation form.
This is the 44th year of the Christmas Appeal, which raises funds for local families and individuals in short-term financial crisis. The 2013-14 appeal, which began Nov. 1 and runs through the end of February, has a set goal of $50,000.
