To the editor:
I always enjoy reading Bishop Matthew’s weekly “Along the Way” column. They are always spiritually refreshing. The December 15/16 one titled, “Pray, reflect during Advent” was of great interest to me, as it mentioned how our Lord enters our lives and makes us aware of His love for us. Also how our Lord reminds us if we’ve been attending to the deeper things, the realities that help us to appreciate the meaning of life’s daily events.
Bishop Matthew also suggested ways to grow in the months ahead. The importance to be in touch with our hearts, to find God’s spark so that we can fan it into flame, to find the obstacles to growth so that we can hold them up and ask God to touch them. Quick simply, the Bishop’s Advent writing was an excellent piece to read in preparation for the Christmas season.
