Archbishop Romero subject of March 15 lecture

The Rochester Thomas Merton Pax Christi Society is sponsoring a lecture by Dr. Damian Zynda, who will present “Oscar Romero: A Model for Contemporary Discipleship” on Tuesday, March 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 150 French Road, Pittsford.

Holy Thursday, March 24, marks the 25th anniversary of the assassination of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador. During his three years as Archbishop of San Salvador, Oscar Romero became known as a fearless defender of the poor and suffering. He was assassinated while celebrating Mass in a small chapel in a cancer hospital where he lived.
