Donations and volunteers are sought for the annual Migrant Farmworker Project, a social-ministry effort of the Good Shepherd Catholic Community in southern Cayuga County.
The following items are needed: food — white rice, dry beans, spaghetti, tuna, crackers and canned chili and pasta; kitchen items — used pots and pans, crock pots, eating utensils, plates, bowls and potholders; clothing (adult sizes large to 3X) — canvas totes, baseball caps, jeans, sweats, T-shirts, socks, jackets and men’s belts.
In addition, volunteers are welcomed for the July project of assembling of items, bagging and distribution, as well as for special events.
The Migrant Farmworker Project involves Cayuga and Tompkins county parishes that collect and distribute the goods to workers who stay at a camp in King Ferry. For details, call Debbie Patrick at 315/497-2049.
