Auburn parish plans memorial brick patio

Past and present members of Sacred Heart Parish in Auburn are encouraged to help create “Father Wahl’s Garden of Memories.”

This memorial brick patio will be created out of bricks engraved with names or dates that are significant to past and present parishioners. The garden will honor the parish’s founding pastor, Father Raymond J. Wahl, and it is being created to celebrate the parish’s 50th anniversary.

Sacred Heart Parish, founded in 1956, will celebrate its anniversary with a Sept. 30 dinner dance and an Oct. 1 Mass with Bishop Matthew H. Clark.

Current and former parishioners may sign up to have bricks engraved by contacting the parish office. A 4-by-8-inch brick may be engraved with three lines of text for $50, and an 8-inch-square brick may be engraved with five lines of text for $75.

For more information or to sign up, contact Sacred Heart’s parish office at 315/252-7271, or contact Al or Barb Kalicki at 315/253-8100.
