Auburn priest plans pilgrimage to Ireland

Father Ralph Fraats, priest in residence at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Auburn, is leading a pilgrimage to Ireland Oct. 4-14. The trip will cost $2,199 for pilgrims departing from Newark International Airport and $2,384 for pilgrims departing from Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

On their first day in Ireland, pilgrims will attend Mass at the Galway Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St. Nicholas and take a tour of Galway. Over the next few days pilgrims will visit many different locations, including Kylemore Abbey, Knock, Cork, the Cliffs of Moher, the Dingle Peninsula, King John’s Castle in Shannon, and the ruins of St. Nicholas Church and Chantry Chapel and the Franciscan Abbey. They’ll watch horse races in Limerick, travel through Kilarney National Park and visit Blarney Castle and Holy Cross Abbey.
