The Roman Catholic Community of the 19th Ward, comprising St. Augustine, St. Monica and Our Lady of Good Counsel churches, will hold an auction of household, church, school, and office items on Saturday, June 24. The auction will be preceded by a preview at 9 a.m. The auction will begin at 10 a.m. in St. Monica School’s gymnasium at 841 Genesee St.
The three churches have merged into one community at St. Monica, and the auction items consist of surplus items from the three communities. The items include such household goods as china, kitchenware, lighting fixtures, oriental rugs, appliances, and furniture; filing cabinets, desks, and other office furniture and equipment. Church items include pews, candle sticks, fixtures, and more. In addition, some items from the former elementary schools will be auctioned, including desks, tables and chairs.
Coinciding with the auction will be a chicken barbecue held on the grounds of St. Monica School. Advance ticket sales are available by calling 585/235-3340.
