A team from St. Mary’s Parish in Bath recently captured an award for its participation in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
The St. Mary’s team, known as “The Flame,” earned the Spirit Award for its efforts on July 8 at the Steuben County Fairgrounds. There, participants walked around the track throughout the night in honor of cancer victims, survivors and caregivers.
The St. Mary’s group raised $1,550 for the Cancer Society. Relay for Life has been held at several sites throughout the Southern Tier in recent weeks.
