A breakfast fundraiser to benefit Elmira Free Community Kitchen and the food pantry at St. Anthony/St. Patrick Parish will take place Sunday, May 21, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Ss. Peter and Paul Parish Center, 160 High St., Elmira.
Adult admission is $5 ($2.50 for children under age 10.) The menu will consist of scrambled eggs, hash browns, link sausage, coffee, orange juice and sweet rolls. The event also will feature a bake sale and prizes. It is being sponsored by the social ministry committees of Saint Anthony/St. Patrick and Ss. Peter and Paul parishes.
The St. Anthony/St. Patrick food pantry is located at 604 Park Place and is open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesdays. The Free Community Kitchen is housed in Ss. Peter and Paul Parish Center and is an independent outreach ministry that operates on volunteer and donated support. It is open for evening meals from 4-5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, as well as for lunch from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The kitchen also serves special holiday meals on Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving.
