Bishop announces pastoral appointments

Bishop Salvatore R. Matano has announced the following pastoral appointments, which become effective June 30, 2015, unless otherwise noted:

Father Brian K. Carpenter to the candidacy program of the Society of St. Sulpice, from parochial vicar, Blessed Trinity/St. Patrick, Owego.

Father Lee P. Chase to pastor, St. Lawrence, Greece, from parochial administrator at the parish.

Father William G. C. Coffas to pastor, Our Mother of Sorrows, Greece, from assisting priest, St. Thomas More and Our Lady Queen of Peace, Brighton.

Father Felix Dalimpuo to a second six-year term as pastor, St. Michael, Newark.

Father John A. DeSocio to a second six-year term as pastor, St. Mary, Elmira.

Father Richard T. Farrell to a second six-year term as pastor, Blessed Sacrament, Elmira.

Father Michael G. Fowler (being ordained to the priesthood June 20) to parochial vicar, St. Agnes, Avon; St. Paul of the Cross, Honeoye Falls; and St. Rose, Lima, concurrent with providing Mass at Monroe Community College.

Father Joseph A. Hart to pastor, St. Thomas More and Our Lady Queen of Peace, Brighton, from vicar general, moderator of the curia, and assisting priest at St. Thomas More and Our Lady Queen of Peace.

Father George R. Heyman to president, St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry, Pittsford, concurrent with providing Mass at Monroe Community Hospital, from president of St. Bernard’s and assisting priest at Church of the Resurrection, Fairport.

Father Matthew F. Jones (being ordained to the priesthood June 20) to parochial vicar, Blessed Sacrament, St. Boniface and St. Mary, Rochester.

Father Robert J. Kennedy to pastor, St. Mary, Rochester, concurrent with pastor, Blessed Sacrament and St. Boniface, Rochester, from pastor, Blessed Sacrament and St. Boniface, and assisting priest at St. Mary.

Father Christopher E. Linsler to a second six-year term as pastor, St. Mary Our Mother, Horseheads.

Father Peter B. Mottola to full-time studies in canon law at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., from parochial vicar, St. Benedict, Canandaigua.

Father Timothy L. Niven to pastor, St. Alphonsus, Auburn, from pastor, St. Patrick, Victor.

Father Anthony B. Nketiah to parochial vicar, Church of the Assumption and Church of the Resurrection, Fairport, from parochial vicar, Blessed Sacrament and St. Boniface, Rochester.

Father Daniel Ruiz Sierra (being ordained to the priesthood June 20) to parochial vicar, St. Benedict, Canandaigua.

Father Carlos M. Sanchez Betancur (being ordained the priesthood June 20) to parochial vicar, Peace of Christ, Rochester.

Father Edison M. Tayag to pastor, St. Patrick, Victor, from pastor, Blessed Trinity, Wolcott.

Father Paul J. Tomasso to vicar general and moderator of the curia, from pastor, Our Mother of Sorrows, Greece.

Father Michael G. Upson to pastor, Blessed Trinity, Wolcott, from assisting priest, St. Agnes, Avon; St. Paul of the Cross, Honeoye Falls; and St. Rose, Lima.

Father Peter D. VanLieshout to parochial vicar, Blessed Trinity/St. Patrick, Owego, after completing studies at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Rome.

Deacon Jainer Erick Viloria Romero (being ordained to the transitional diaconate June 6) to deacon, Our Lady of Peace, Geneva.
