Bishop Matano to offer prayers for peace in Rochester Nov. 21

In light of the continued violence plaguing the City of Rochester and its surrounding communities, the faithful of the Diocese of Rochester are invited to join Bishop Salvatore R. Matano in praying for peace and an end to the violence.

Prayers for the end of violence will be offered at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, Rochester, during the 11:15 a.m. Mass Nov. 21, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.

On Nov. 12, Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren declared a state of emergency in the City of Rochester due to the rising violence. In October, the Catholic Courier put together an interactive multimedia project on city violence.
