Bishop Salvatore R. Matano will be the special guest speaker at the fifth-annual Sharon Pearte Dinner. The event will take place Sunday, March 12, at 5 p.m. at the St. Mary Southside gymnasium, 224 Franklin St., Elmira.

The dinner is being organized by Chemung Valley 4 Life, an organization that promotes the dignity of human life from conception until natural death. It honors Sharon Pearte, the longtime president of what was then known as Chemung County Right to Life, who died in 2012.
