Bishop Salvatore R. Matano celebrated a Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral Dec. 13 to mark the start of the Jubilee Year of Mercy recently proclaimed by Pope Francis. The pope said the Holy Year is a gift of grace that allows Christians to experience the joy of encountering the transforming power of grace and rediscovering God’s infinite mercy toward sinners.
