Members of the legal profession are invited to the annual Red Mass, which Bishop Matthew H. Clark will celebrate at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park. A reception will follow. According to the diocese, the first documented Red Mass was held at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris in 1225 and became a widely celebrated tradition throughout Europe thereafter.
