Booklet offers unambiguous directives for voting

To the editor:

Your reader Bob Zimmerman (April 7) points out an ambiguity on your position concerning abortion.

Those of us who applaud the firmness of Holy Mother Church and the oft repeated exhortations of the Holy Father have been outraged and scandalized by the so-called “Catholic” politicians who have thumbed their noses at the teachings of the Church to which they claim to belong.

Catholic Answers has put out a booklet entitled “Voters’ Guide for Serious Catholics” which lays down in no uncertain terms the type of candidate one should be able to endorse with a clear conscience.

For anyone who is sick and tired of hypocrites, who put their political aspirations before all else, this booklet is available from toll-free credit card line 888-291-8000 or mail to: Catholic Answers, PO Box 199000, San Diego, CA 92159.

EDITOR’S NOTE: There is no ambiguity in the Catholic Courier’s position on abortion — we are 100 percent opposed. However, we do not consider it necessary to make abortion the focus of every article we publish.
