To the editor:
We, your Sisters of St. Joseph in Brazil, pray in gratitude for each of you and your families at this time of wonder and awe. Your generous contributions and prayerful support enable us to bring light and comfort to God’s people in Brazil. Sometimes expressed through educational opportunities or making possible health care; sometimes through pure water projects; or again it might be through nutritional programs. The fact is that without your donations, few of these things would be possible.
The birth of Jesus was a light illuminating the darkness and uncertainties of humanity. It is a totally gratuitous gift of a loving God to His children. It is this amazingly powerful and unbelievable truth which we try to grasp as we behold the familiar Bethlehem scene. We are invited to become a part of it, by being light in the darkness and comfort during moments of uncertainty, for our sisters and brothers wherever we find ourselves called to respond
Our wish for each of you is, that the Christ who was born in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago continues to be born in your hearts and fill you with joy and wonder at the marvels which our God continues to work in and through each of us.
