The annual Breakfast Briefing on the State of the Child in Chemung County will take place Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Elmira Community Kitchen, 160 High St.
Local advocates for children are scheduled to speak, addressing such issues as poverty and mental health. Joseph Hochreiter, superintendent of the Elmira City School District, will be one of the speakers. The gathering is sponsored by Chemung County’s Every Child Matters Coalition, a network of local advocates who work to ensure that children’s needs remain a priority at all levels of government.
