Brockport fundraiser will aid girls’ schools in Tanzania

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Brockport is collecting funds through Sept. 30 to support two high schools for girls in Tanzania.

The Kowak Girls’ Secondary School, located in the Mara region, a poor rural area, was founded by Maryknoll priest Father James Conrad in 1992. St. Mary’s Mazinde Juu Girls’ Secondary School in Lushoto has 600 young women in residence and was founded in 1989 by Father Damien Milliken, a Benedictine monk from the Rochester area.

All donations will be used for student scholarships. Click here for more information and how to donate.
