Can, bottle drive to aid Catholic Charities

The Cayuga County office of Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes is holding a can and bottle drive from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at its office, 134 E. Genesee St., Auburn.

Bottles and cans also may be dropped off at the office anytime through Sept. 8 or at the Northside Food and Beverage Market, 233 North St. in Auburn. When dropping off the bottles and cans at the market, mention that they are to support Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes.

Our Lady of the Snow Parish in northern Cayuga County also is participating in the agency’s drive. Cans and bottles may be brought to the 5 p.m. Mass Sept. 8 at St. John Church, 36 Rochester St., Port Byron; to the 8:30 a.m. Mass Sept. 9 at St. Patrick Church, 2576 E. Mechanic St., Cato; or to the 10:30 a.m. Mass Sept. 9 at St. Joseph Church, 111 S. Seneca St., Weedsport. Donations will be collected in the parking lot of each church.

Proceeds from the drive will be used to help support the programs of Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes’ Cayuga County office.
