To the editor:
I was very moved by the reaction of the Amish community that suffered the murder of several of their children in Pennsylvania. Not only did they publicly forgive this disturbed man, but also asked that a fund be set up for his widow and three children. It is rare that we see this amount of forgiveness and love towards someone that has caused so much pain. These followers of Jesus truly reflect his teachings of love and forgiveness, regardless of the size of the sin. If they can forgive such an egregious transgression as this, what can we do in our lives to forgive much smaller ones?
