Canandaigua restaurant’s Friday fish fries aid Catholic school

A popular Canandaigua restaurant has teamed up with a local Catholic school for a Lenten fundraiser.

Each Friday during Lent, Nolan’s On Canandaigua Lake will donate $5 from each fish-fry meal it sells to St. Mary School in Canandaigua. Fish-fry meals may be purchased for dine-in or take-out between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Fridays through April 7. Each fish-fry meal may be purchased for $25 and includes coleslaw and French fries.

This year marks the third time Nolan’s has partnered with St. Mary for the Lenten fundraiser, and it’s been extremely successful thus far, according to Kellie Parker, cochair of St. Mary School’s Parent Teacher Organization.

“We actually broke their fish-fry record with 167 orders on the first Friday we teamed up (in 2021). Last year, Nolan’s donated $4,500 to St. Mary School,” Parker said.

This year, parent volunteers are bringing to-go orders out to customers’ cars to make sure the fundraiser doesn’t place an undue burden on the restaurant’s staff, Parker noted.

Nolan’s On Canandaigua Lake is located at 726 S. Main St. in Canandaigua. Orders may be placed online at www.NolansOnTheLake.com.
