Canandaigua school plans first golf tournament

St. Mary School in Canandaigua will hold a golf tournament May 18 at Victor Hills Golf Course in Victor.

The tournament will replace St. Mary’s long-running Cinco de Mayo gala as the primary fundraiser for the year, and the Parent Teacher Organization hopes the tournament will become an annual event.

The tournament will be in a four-person scramble format with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., but the driving range will be open and free for tournament participants at 7 a.m. The entry fee is $90 per golfer, and $25 per person for those who will only attend the dinner. The event also will include a putting contest, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.

The school is still accepting sponsors for the tournament and also is seeking volunteers.

Registration has not opened yet, but anyone interested can learn more about the tournament by sending an e-mail to welcome@stmarysgolf.org or visiting www.stmarysgolf.org.
