A car drove into the entrance of St. Charles Borromeo Church on the corner of Maiden Lane and Dewey Avenue in Greece Sept. 1, according to police and parish officials. Cindy Chamberlain, business manager for the church, said the parish is awaiting a damage estimate.
“(The car) hit one of our entrance doors, so we did have to put up an emergency enclosure,” she said.
Greece Police Officer Jim Leary said Karen Swanger, 43, was charged with driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, and several driving infractions. She was scheduled to be in Town Court Sept. 18.
