Bishop Emeritus Matthew H. Clark, eighth shepherd of the Diocese of Rochester, was laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Jan. 30 following a funeral Mass at Rochester’s Sacred Heart Cathedral. Celebrant and homilist Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, archbishop of New York, was joined by Bishop Salvatore R. Matano, visiting bishops and numerous diocesan clergy. Bishop Clark, who served the diocese for over 33 years before retiring in 2012, passed away Jan. 22, 2023, at age 85.
