Volunteer opportunities are available with Court Appointed Special Advocates in Chemung, Steuben and Schuyler counties.
The CASA program involves trained volunteers serving as advocates for children who are abused and/or neglected, helping reduce the amount of time those youths spend in court and in foster-care settings. Training is provided by CASA of the Southern Tier at no cost. A typical commitment is 10 to 15 hours per month.
Those interested in volunteering are invited to call CASA at 607/936-2272.
