Cathedral visit was inspiring

To the editor:

My wife and I had the pleasure of renewing our marriage vows (last fall) at the Jubilee Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Married couples from 25 to 70 years also did so and were paid a tribute by Bishop Matthew Clark. The church was filled to capacity. After hearing and reading negative accounts by people before and after the renovation of the church, we found it to be beautiful and well done. After the Mass we stayed for refreshments, joined with others in chatting with our beloved Bishop; and later we admiringly toured the church. Congratulations to the organizers for their work in preparing such an event and to the cantors for singing so beautifully. While listening to Bishop Matthew’s singing during the celebration of the Eucharist, it gave me the feeling that indeed he is inspired by the Holy Spirit and blessed by God in a special way. If anyone has never visited the Cathedral or attended Mass there, please do so. I’m sure you’ll find it beautiful and inspiring as we did.
