Catholic author, deacon to speak at Rochester parish mission

Deacon S. James Meyer, a well-known Catholic author and speaker, will lead a three-night mission for the Southeast Rochester Catholic Community in April.

Deacon Meyer will speak April 22-24 about his 2022 book, Living With Real Presence: Eucharist as an Approach To Life. The Southeast Rochester Catholic Community’s three churches will take turns hosting the evening sessions, which each will begin at 7 p.m. Deacon Meyer will be at St. Mary Church April 22, St. Boniface Church April 23 and Blessed Sacrament Church April 24. The mission is open to the public.

Ordained in 2006, Deacon Meyer serves at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish in Green Bay, Wis., and is the cofounder of Whatsoever You Do Inc., StreetLights Outreach and several other programs intended to promote human dignity. He has written several other books, including Jesus Wears Socks With Sandals and God Plays a Purple Banjo. His most recent book, Live Like You Mean It: Reimagining Purpose and Vocation, is scheduled to be released in May.
