Catholic Charities elects board leaders

The Board of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester has elected a new leader.

Timothy Sheehan of Brighton recently was elected board chairman, and Kevin O’Connell of Horseheads will continue as treasure through the 2013-14 term.

Sheehan succeeds Linda Stundtner as chair of the board. Sheehan is president and chief executive officer of Midwest Asset Acceptance Group, a specialized investment and asset-management company. Among his other community service, he serves as a board member of Catholic Charities Community Services. He and his wife, Jeannine, have four children and are members of St. Thomas More Parish in Brighton.

O’Connell joined the Catholic Charities board in 2006 and was elected treasurer in 2009. He is a retirement-planning consultant and a retired owner of Swan & Sons Morss Co. Inc., a general insurance and financial services agency in Elmira. He and his wife, Chris, have one daughter and three grandchildren.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester comprises 11 agencies that work together to touch the lives of nearly 250,000 individuals in need throughout the diocese.
