Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes’ annual Hoedown for Hunger will take place Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. at Geneva on the Lake, located at 1001 Lochland Road in Geneva.
The event raises money for the Geneva Community Lunch Program, which serves nearly 16,000 hot meals to people in and around the Geneva community and is an important community resource, according to Ellen Wayne, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes.
“Hunger continues to be a pressing problem in Geneva and the surrounding community,” she said. “This year we will have some new and exciting ways to support our efforts, so we know this event will be both fun and important for our work.”
This year’s hoedown will feature music by Rick Hoyt and the Cool Country Club along with special guest caller Bob Nicholson. Backyard-barbecue-themed fare and a signature drink are included in the ticket price.
Tickets are available for $35 apiece or two for $65 and should be purchased by Sept. 9, although a limited number of tickets may be available at the door.
