Catholic Charities seeks cell phones for recycling

CORNING — Catholic Charities Turning Point and the Corning Community Food Pantry have begun a cell-phone fundraising program.

Charitable funds will be earned for each phone collected and sent out for recycling. Used phones may be brought to the pantry at 39 W. William St. in Corning. Hours are 9 to 11:45 a.m. Monday and Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday; noon to 2:45 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to noon every second and fourth Saturday.

Proceeds from the collection will be put toward such Turning Point services as housing, utility, prescription and transportation (bus token) assistance. The Corning Community Food Pantry provides food and clothing to people in need.
