St. Francis and St. Clare Parish will host a free program aimed at encouraging students to become involved in human-rights issues.
“Teaching Life Skills for Global Citizenship,” will take place March 10 at 2 p.m at the St. Francis-St. Clare Ministry Center, 35 Center St. in Waterloo. It will feature long-time elementary school teacher Gertrude Shaffer-Noden, who founded Words Into Deeds in order to help teachers and schools better prepare students for the demands of 21st century citizenship.
