Catholics of all ages who actively practice their faith have an opportunity to earn physical rewards during the current National Eucharistic Revival.
The National Catholic Committee on Scouting recently announced the creation of the Eucharistic Revival Activity Program. The award is open to all Catholics at least 6 years old, regardless of whether they are involved in Scouting.
“The goal of this award is to find a way for all Catholics, young and old, to revive their faith and love of Jesus through prayer and the sacraments, especially the Eucharist,” according to a spring 2023 letter from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, which is offering the program in conjunction with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Those who participate in the Eucharistic Revival Activity Program may each earn a circular patch with the logo of the National Eucharistic Revival and have the option of earning up to eight auxiliary patches to accompany the main patch. In order to earn the main patch, participants must attend Mass and receive the Eucharist for 12 weeks, preferably consecutively.
Participants may earn the auxiliary patches by participating in such activities as eucharistic adoration, eucharistic processions and family prayer, or by receiving the sacrament of reconciliation or learning about eucharistic miracles.
These limited-edition patches will be available through 2025. After earning the patches, participants may purchase them online via the National Catholic Committee on Scouting’s website. The main patches may be purchased for $3 apiece, and the auxiliary patches are 75 cents apiece.
