Celebrity organist to play

Olivier Latry, principal organist at Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris, will perform a recital at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, as part of the 2010-11 Rochester Celebrity Organ Recital Series.

Latry will perform works by Bach, Alain, Langlais, Litaize, Dupré and an improvisation on submitted themes. The concert also will feature members of the Christ Church Schola Cantorum with Stephen Kennedy as director.

The series is sponsored by the Rochester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the Eastman School of Music, WXXI Public Broadcasting, Asbury First United Methodist Church, Sacred Heart Cathedral and Christ Church.

Tickets, which are $10 for adults and $5 for full-time students, are available at the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Box Office, 108 East Ave., or at 585-454-2100. Unsold tickets may be purchased at the door with cash or check one hour prior to the concert.
