Jack Drexel, who serves as director of operations for Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, has been elected to the Catholic Cemetery Conference’s board of directors.
Drexel was named director of the Eastern Region and Eastern Canada during the CCC’s annual convention held Sept. 19-22 in Phoenix, Ariz. He will serve a three-year term in his new position.
He has nearly 30 years’ experience in cemetery operations and management and has been an active member of the Catholic Cemetery Conference since 1993. Drexel currently serves on the CCC’s Committee on the Future and he chaired the Buildings and Grounds Committee for six years. He also chaired the Convention Program Planning Committee in 2004.
Drexel is a graduate of CCC’s School of Leadership and Management Excellence at John Carroll University, and has been a presenter in the land-management and general-operations module since 2004. He is past president of the Cemetery Association of Western New York and a member of the New York State Association of Cemeteries.
The Catholic Cemetery Conference helps Catholic cemetery staff enhance their skills in caring for the deceased and comforting their loved ones through ministry, education, networking and service opportunities. Founded in 1949, CCC has 1,200 members spanning the United States, Australia, Canada, Italy and Guam.
