Nine men and women from Southern Tier parishes were recognized June 7 for their social-justice leadership and service to the poor. They were honored at the annual Catholic Charities Parish Social Ministry Dinner at the Hill Top Inn, Elmira.
Honorees were selected by their respective parishes’ social-ministry committees. Those recognized were Patti Gush, Kim Harkness and Judy Symonds from St. Mary Parish, Elmira; Barbara Smith, Blessed Trinity/St. Patrick, Tioga County; Thomas and Janet Madigan and Betty Langendorfer, St. Mary, Bath; Connie Judd, Ss. Peter and Paul, Elmira; and Peggy Brewer, Roman Catholic Community of the Canisteo Valley, Hornell.
