The state Department of Health has given approval for Cherry Ridge to expand its enhanced assisted-living units from six to 15 apartments in the assisted-living community of The Glen.
Enhanced assisted living offers the physical assistance of another person for transferring, walking, climbing or descending stairs, managing medical equipment and managing incontinence. According to Cherry Ridge officials, the care allows seniors to age in place and to avoid transitioning into home care or skilled nursing care.
Cherry Ridge began offering enhanced assisted living in January and will continue to offer traditional assisted living as well. Cherry Ridge is located in Webster and is part of St. Ann’s Community.
