St. Francis of Assisi Church in Catatonk, Tioga County, will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a pork-chop dinner on Saturday, Nov. 4, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Candor Fire Hall.
All are welcome. Tickets, which are $7 for adults and $4 for children, may be purchased at the church, the Blessed Trinity/St. Patrick office in Owego or at the door. Attendees are asked to bring any pictures they may have reflecting St. Francis’ history. Organizers are also requesting special desserts to be contributed.
Both the church and the fire hall are located on Route 96B. Call 607/687-1068 for more details.
St. Francis was founded as a parish in 1929, due to an influx of Polish Catholic farming families in the Tioga area. Its church building was dedicated Nov. 1, 1931.
