Churches cancel Masses in wake of windstorm

Update: St. Paul Church will re-open March 14 for 8:30 a.m. Mass. Our Mother of Sorrows Church re-opened at 8:00 a.m. on March 13. 

Some parishes in Monroe County sustained property damage and have been without power for an extended period of time in the wake of a windstorm on March 8. In light of this, two local parishes have canceled their weekend Masses.

St. Paul Church, 783 Hard Road, Webster, and Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., Greece, have canceled all weekend Masses March 11 and 12. Parishioners are being asked to attend Mass at one of the following nearby churches:

St. Paul parishioners:

* St. Rita Church, 1008 Maple Drive, Webster: Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m.

* Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Road, Webster: Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

* Holy Spirit Church, 1355 Hatch Road, Penfield: Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

Our Mother of Sorrows parishioners:

* St. Charles Borromeo, 3003 Dewey Ave., Greece: Saturday: 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

* St. John the Evangelist, 2400 W. Ridge Road, Greece: Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8 and 10 a.m.

* St. Mark Church, 54 Kuhn Road, Greece: Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
