The diocesan Public Policy Committee has awarded small grants to several parishes and schools to help each respond to moral concerns regarding climate change. The funds were received from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and local donors.
In Monroe County, St. Monica Parish in Rochester received a grant to distribute high-efficiency light bulbs. Nazareth Academy in Rochester received a grant for a coastal cleanup project, and Church of the Transfiguration in Pittsford received a grant to begin a Ministry for the Care of God’s Creation.
