A closing celebration for Corning’s St. Vincent de Paul Church is set to take place Saturday, Sept. 15.

Starting time is 2:30 p.m. on the church lawn, 222 Dodge Ave., where a prayer service will be followed by a reception. The celebration will continue at the 5 p.m. Mass at St. Mary Church, 155 State St., when sacred items from St. Vincent de Paul are to be presented.

St. Vincent de Paul had served Catholics on Corning’s north side since 1913, with its first church dedicated in 1914 and the current structure in 1955.
