Clyde parishioner will celebrate 104th birthday

Tinella "Tiny" Montemorano, a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Clyde, will celebrate her 104th birthday Aug. 21.

Montemorano’s family is holding an open house Aug. 19 at her house, 11299 Lock Road in Clyde, and family, friends and members of the community are welcome to stop by and visit, said her grandson, Michael Montemorano.

Tinella Montemorano’s father, Santo, was the first Italian immigrant to settle in Clyde, where she was born in 1903, her grandson said. She has lived in the house on Lock Road since she married her husband, Michael A. Montemorano, in 1923. Her grandson said she is still very sharp and in good health.

She is a devout Catholic and prays the rosary multiple times every day, and enjoys it when people stop in to visit briefly and pray the rosary with her. Friends and family members who can’t visit her during the Aug. 19 open house are encouraged to drop by and visit her any time, Michael Montemorano said.

"She enjoys the company, and she enjoys saying the rosary with people," he said.
